Summer is in full swing in the Washington DC area, and we are experiencing beautiful warm sunny days that are perfect for getting out and exploring!
With the longer days, you can pack even more into your weekend or weekday adventures.
Here are five fun activities that you can (still) do this summer in the Washington DC area.
1 – Go to a Nationals game
One of the best ways to support your local sports is to go to their games! The local baseball team, the Nationals, have games all summer and we personally love spending a day at the ballpark. In addition to the game, you have access to great food and drinks, restaurants within walking distance, and lots of fun activities to help keep kids’ content during the game. If you go, watch out for the Presidents race – it is always a fan favorite, and you never know who will win!
2 – Go to a concert
There are so many options for concerts in Virginia this summer. When the weather is nice, enjoying a concert outside can be a great activity for adults or even families. While there are several venues in the area, Wolf Trap is a great spot to see an outdoor concert because you can bring your own food and drinks. Just remember that seating is first come first served, so get there early to grab a good spot!
3 – Visit a private art gallery
Glenstone is one of the best kept secrets around DC, perhaps because of its 40-minute drive. However, don’t let the distance deter you because it is a 300-acre property full of art and structures. It has the perfect combination of nature and art. Glenstone is always free but does require a reservation so make sure to sign up before you head there.
4 – Experience a bottomless brunch
Brunch is amazing for so many reasons: pancakes, waffles, eggs, all the breakfast food. When you add bottomless drinks to it, brunch becomes even better! Spend a few days this summer enjoying a bottomless brunch at one of the many restaurants in DC that offer brunch. If drinking isn’t your thing, brunch is still a great way to end the weekend with friends and family.
5 – Spend the day in Georgetown
Georgetown is one of DC’s oldest neighborhoods. You can start your day with coffee and pastries at Kafé Leopold then walk around and either go window shopping or pick up some new goodies to take home. Grab a late lunch or early dinner at any of the amazing restaurants there. A day in Georgetown sounds like the perfect way to spend a girl’s day!
There is still time to fit in more activities this summer so hopefully you get some inspiration from our list. Don’t forget to take care of yourself during all the fun and get your biannual dental exams taken care of before the start of the school year. Call us today to make an appointment!
